Trainee Installer

Andy Glass Windows are looking for a trainee installer
The position can be part time around current educational training or full time.

Trainee Installer responsibilities

  • On the job training provided

  • Assisting qualified installers

  • Driving license desirable

  • Training opportunities with FENSA Training Academy 

 

Duties:

  • Prepare frames and glass for the installation teams

  • Assist with loading and unloading of vehicles (manual handling)

  • Assist with clearing and cleaning up on site

  • Remove existing windows carefully and safely

  • Fit new windows correctly and glaze them. Clean and seal the new windows

  • Tidy area Adhere to health and safety requirements at all times

  • To ensure quality at all times

 

 Ideal Candidate:

  • Reliability and dependability

  • Ability to meet to physical demands of the job

  • Self Motivated

  • The ability to work on their own initiative whilst being part of a team

  • Highly professional and enthusiastic with a strong work ethic

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Must be enthusiastic with a proactive, positive approach and flexible work attitude

  • Highly organised with ability to prioritise work load

 

 

£8.00 per Hour (Dependant on age and experience)

28 days Annual Leave including bank holidays (Pro-Rata)

Normal hours Monday – Friday 7.30am – 4.30pm

Storeroom Operative

 

Andy Glass Windows are looking for a storeroom operative. 
The position can be part time, but potential for full time if you are willing to work out onsite with the installer teams in our customer’s homes assisting with lifting frames, fetching and carrying, and assisting with clearing and cleaning up at the end of the day as demand requires.

Storeroom Operative responsibilities 

  • Keeping storeroom and surrounding areas clean and orderly 

  • The storeroom operative will be responsible for the receipt, storage, assembly, and moving of stock within the storeroom 

  • Trouble shooting any problems and queries which may arise 

  • Any other adhoc duties that may arise 

  • General storeroom duties and Health & Safety 

  • Driving license essential

Duties: 

  • Move and stack materials, mainly uPVC and aluminium window and doors and double-glazed glass units. Manual handling. 

  • Receive and process delivery's 

  • Prepare frames and glass for the installation teams 

  • Assist with loading and unloading of vehicles (manual handling) 

  • General housekeeping duties in the storeroom or production area and duties as assigned 

  • Perform general storeroom duties in order to maintain a smooth operation

  • Highly organised with ability to prioritise work load 

  • Pay care and attention to safe working practices, especially when handling glass 

  • Have a pleasant and polite manner with customers 

  • Have good manual skills 

  • Be able to make measurements and calculate adjustments to fit frames 

  • Be comfortable working at heights 

  

  

£9.00 per Hour (Dependant on age and experience)

28 days Annual Leave including bank holidays (Pro-Rata) 

Normal storeroom opening hours are Monday – Friday 7.30am – 4.30pm 
Hours open to negotiation, however Wednesday 7.30am – 2.30pm essential
